 An Advent series based around the Canticles associated with the Christmas story. Through talks and times of prayer come to understand God’s plan of salvation more fully and allow your heart to be opened to welcome Jesus in a deeper way this Christmas.

Benedictus: The Song of Zechariah

Canon Luiz is a priest of the Diocese of Lancaster and is head of Lancaster Education Service. He has degrees in Philosophy and Theology from the Gregorian University in Rome, has undertaken further studies in sacred Scripture at the Biblical Institute in Rome and the École Biblique in Jerusalem and has been a guest lecturer at the Beda College in Rome.

They strive to fulfil the command of the gospel through serving the materially poor, most especially the destitute and homeless by living in poor neighbourhoods, running homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and youth programs amongst other evangelising activities.

Magnificat:The Song of Mary

Sr Maria is a Dominican Sister who is founding a new community in Wigan called ‘The Sisters of Signadou’ which means ‘Sign of God’, a name taken from the sign shown to St Dominic which gave him assurance to begin the Order of Preachers. She has a great preaching ministry and a great heart for young people.

Nunc Dimittis: The Song of Simeon

Fr Mark is a priest of the Diocese of Salford who is currently Parish Priest of St Mary’s, Bamber Bridge. For eight years previous to this he was the Vice Rector of the English College in Rome helping to prepare students for the priesthood.
