Praise and Worship

Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His – Psalm 100:1-3

We at Metanoia Project take seriously (and joyfully!) the command to praise the Lord – not because we are good but because He is good! Music has always been an important way for human beings to express their love and devotion as well as their pain and sorrow to the Lord. For many people God speaks powerfully through music and song. The Psalms are a perfect example of this – God’s inspired Word, used throughout the day in the Universal prayers of the Church, teach us about who He is as well as who we are at our best and our worst. Whatever our state, however we feel, we are called to praise the Lord! We currently have several ways that we minister through music:

Our regular Praise and Worship event is DOXA: glory, dignity, honour. Come along and praise the Lord with us! Lively worship, peaceful prayer and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the beautiful setting of St Wilfrid’s Church.

7:30 – 9.00pm (followed by refreshments and social time)
Second Friday of each month
In St Wilfrid’s Church, Preston, PR1 8BU

We also provide Music to support the Liturgy at Mass, aiming to help each of us present enter into the Liturgy and lift our hearts to meet with God’s heart in prayer. Currently this takes place (usually on the 2nd Sunday of each month) in two Churches as follows:

9.30am (10am during Summer)
St Mary’s Brownedge
Bamber Bridge, PR5 6SP

4.30pm
St Wilfrid’s
Preston, PR1 8BU

Our worship team also lead the worship at the North West Days of Renewal which take place three times a year at St Clare’s Church with a variety of Guest Speakers.
