It’s great to welcome back Metanoia Project’s, ‘BeOne’ Adult Ministry which takes place on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm-9.30pmat St. Wilfrid’s Parish Centre, Preston.
To kick off the new season of adult formation activities, we began with the regular ‘Living Water’ format which involves, worship and praise, reading and praying with scripture, a short talk, time for personal reflection and a chance to socialise with others and make new friends! We always use the following Sunday’s Gospel reading as our focus for reflection.
Our Gospel for our first evening back after the Summer break was a challenging one and came from Matt: 18 vs 15-20 (Go and get your Bible and read it for yourself!) After reading and praying with the Gospel, Metanoia Project’s Project Director, Joe White breaks open the Word for us as he delivers a short talk on the Gospel. Joe’s impassioned talks are always powerful and enable us to understand the Word of God in new and exciting ways. Joe then set the following questions for us to discuss in our small groups:
Do you correct people for your own good or for their own good?
Do you avoid correcting people?
Do you respond well to correction from others?
Do you feel you are in a community where this is possible?
After Joe’s talk and our group discussion the message was clear, we need to be part of a community where Jesus is at the centre of everything!
It was great to receive the following feedback from one of the participants, Jillian:
‘Such a Blessing to be with the group last night, to see your Passion and broken-heartedness with Christ, over those who do not yet know Him. May The LORD Jesus strengthen, protect, Bless and honour the work He has entrusted you with, with an outpouring of His Holy Spirit. Shalom!
We are here every Thursday at St. Wilfrid’s Parish Centre, do come and join us so that you too can experience God’s abundant blessings!
